Emily Singer & The Heartbeats is a crisp four-piece ensemble that features the soulful and affecting lead vocals of pianist and songwriter, Emily Singer, Bill Rawlins on drums, Drew Krag on lead guitar, and Tom Erlewine on bass guitar. Over the past year and a half, this Athens-based band has been arranging and performing its continually evolving repertoire of Emily's original songs - which groove, swing, pulse, and rock. The band distinctively draws on 60s and 70s popular music, Motown and blue-eyed soul music, and sultry jazz sensibilities to create a fresh, danceable, involving, and uplifting sound.
