Athens Noise Show

The Athens Noise Show began in 2005 mainly at Arts West in Athens, Ohio and featured a group of musicians who collaborated with each other on monthly performances that focused on improvisational and experimental music, and popsicles. Bands that arose directly or indirectly from that group included Weedghost, Unmonumental, Dinner of Swords, Dead Winds of Summer, Casiotone Orchestra, Kid Panda Hands and others. The shows occurred off and on until around 2011, and were brought back in 2020 with two installments before covid put the series on hold again. New collaborators featured members of The Peel, and additional musicians from the Athens community. We are hoping to bring back a couple performances in 2026 at various locations, including Porchfest. Various musicians form the group will provide an improvisational performance with elements of ambient, drone, noise, and experimental music.
